Aardwolf Presents... Variable Resistance!!!

- There is a new command called 'resists'. Players can use this to view their resistances and source of resists. Imms can use this on any player or mob, just using 'resists '.

- There is a new option to raceinfo - 'raceinfo 2' will show the natural resistances for each race.

- There will no longer be a 'weapon' resistance type - whatever resistance or vulnerability a character has to a certain damage type is regardless of the source of the damage.

- The 'magic' type is no longer a generic type covering all non-physical types but a damage type in its own right. The Breastplate which had resist magic before will have resistance to each type added separately.

- A new damage type, 'shadow' has been added. This is intended to be an 'evil' damage type - a counterpart to 'light'.

- The antmagic shell spell is now different and adds resistances to all magical damtypes. The advantage with this is that it stacks with the breastplate AND resists magical damage types from weapons where the old antimagic shell was just spells. The downside is that the level of protection is not as high as it was.

- Protection from fire spell varies amount based on wisdom. Vaccinate spell modifies disease protection based on int and con. Acidproof spell modifies protection based on int and wis. Shockproof spell modifies protection based on int and wis. Willpower modifies mental protection based on int. Energy Shield spell modifies protection based on int and wis. Warmth spell modifies cold protection based on con and wis. Holy mirror modifies resistance to light and holy, based on wis. Toxic resistance modifies resistance to poison based on con and wis.

- Magic and shadow are now available as weapon damage types. There is a 'wblast' which is water damage type and a 'wail' which is sound (sonic) damage type.

- Identify will show resistance amounts, not just flags on/off.

- Counter strike now used the damage type of the character using it.

- One major change is race editing online. Just type 'edit race troll' for example and take a look. Most of it should be self explanatory. Drop me a note with questions. The reboot command has been made 204 so that you can test loading/saving of races after making changes. The race table is now completely different behind the scenes - stored in a SQL table.


FUTURE
------

What you will see happen over the next few weeks is a lot of regular game equipment having some resistances added to it and additional skills and spells given minor amounts of resist.

Once the code is in and settled/stable, we will announce rules for builders and clans.
